Congress requests an arrest warrant against Nicolás Maduro

The full Congress of Deputies gave the green light this Thursday (12.12.2024) to an initiative of the PP so that he Spanish government request an arrest warrant against the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, in a vote that was approved thanks to the support of Vox and the abstentions of together y GNP.

The non-legislative proposal demands the Government to adhere to the demand presented in 2018, to address the International Criminal Court (ICC) and require progress in the situation of Venezuela, as well as requesting its preliminary investigation chamber to issue an arrest warrant against Maduro and other suspects of “committing crimes against humanity.”

“Immediate cessation” of repression and release of political prisoners
