ElectoPanel of opinion on the most beautiful and the ugliest provincial capitals in Spain, which will undoubtedly lead to a debate about the tastes of the Spanish people.
The ugliest capitals in Spain
According to the data collected, Madrid tops the list with 13,7% of the votes, indicating a surprisingly negative perception of the country's capital. Despite being a nerve center of culture, history and urban life, it seems that Madrid has not managed to convince everyone in terms of urban beauty. This perception could be due to population density, traffic and pollution, factors that often play an important role in the aesthetic appreciation of a city.
Other cities that have received a low rating in terms of beauty include Ciudad Real and Huelva, with 8,8% and 7,0% respectively. Ciudad Real, located in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha, could be seen as less attractive due to its lower tourist relevance and less outstanding architecture compared to other more valued Spanish cities. On the other hand, Huelva, in Andalusia, despite its rich history and proximity to natural attractions, also appears not to have captured the aesthetic admiration of respondents.
The most beautiful capitals of Spain
The ElectoPanel has also revealed perceptions about the most beautiful provincial capitals in Spain, highlighting those cities that have captivated respondents with their charm and beauty. At the top of this list is Seville, with an impressive 14,4% of the votes. Seville, known for its rich history, stunning architecture and vibrant culture, has managed to capture the hearts of many.
Another city that has received a high rating is Granada, with 13,9%. Granada is known worldwide for the Alhambra, a palace complex and fortress that represents one of the most beautiful examples of Islamic art in Europe. Additionally, the city offers a unique mix of cultural influences, a rich history and a stunning natural environment, with the Sierra Nevada as a backdrop.
Salamanca, with its 6,1% of votes, shines on this list, in third position, enchanting with its harmonious architecture and its prestigious university, one of the oldest in Europe.
