The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Friday carried out a new bombardment of residential buildings located in the south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, after ordering a forced evacuation of the population in several areas of the city.
The Israeli army has indicated in a brief statement published on the social network X that it has carried out an attack against residential buildings that housed “weapons belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah” under their foundations.
This comes after Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adrai called on people to “evacuate buildings immediately and stay away at a distance of no less than 500 meters” for their “safety and that of their loved ones.”
The bombing comes just hours after the Israeli army carried out a “targeted bombing” of residential buildings in Beirut that it claims are the headquarters of the Shiite militia party Hezbollah. Lebanese authorities have already reported at least 76 dead and wounded.
